Bring the kids out for some messy play and leave the mess behind! A “Messy Play” event will be hosted by Ringgold County Parents as Teachers on Thursday, January 14, at 5:30 PM at the Family Resource Center (3T Room) in Mt. Ayr.
There will be a keepsake handprint craft for all involved as well as a fun take-home activity for each age. Three different age categories from 0-3 will be set up with stations that will include a tub of balls, a pasta sensory tub, water beads, sensory box, water table and “paint circle” finger painting.
Babies and toddlers learn through movement and touch. Sensory play is an essential part of teaching them about the world around them and how their own bodies work. The more “textural” experiences your child has, the more likely they will be to try different textured foods, too. Children may respond differently to sensory experiences. The experiences may calm, improve motor skills, teach children the inter-workings of the world around them, and promote language learning.
