Free vision screenings for children ages 6 months through Kindergarten will be offered at the Family Resource Center in Mt. Ayr on Tuesday, September 16, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Iowa Kidsight is a vision-screening project where Lions Club volunteers throughout Iowa organize and conduct vision-screening sessions in local communities. The results are interpreted by trained staff at the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, and returned to the families.
Parents must complete a consent form prior to a screening being conducted. Consent forms are available at the Ringgold County Public Health office, 119 South Fillmore, Mt. Ayr, Iowa.
