The Start-2-Soar program offered through Ringgold County Public Health has a lot to offer families with children from conception to 3 years of age! Start-2-Soar is a free home visitation program designed to help parents be their child’s first and most influential teachers. The program uses an evidence-based curriculum developed by Parents as Teachers, and it is proven to work.
Children who feel safe, healthy and cared for thrive. A child’s brain develops most during the first few years of life. When developmental delays are caught early, outcomes improve. By connecting families to community resources, they learn they have a support system. Interacting with children by doing age-appropriate activities together builds the relationship between parents and their child – and it is fun!
In the past ten years, Start-2-Soar has impacted the lives of over 200 children in Ringgold County. Pinwheel gardens are being planted throughout Ringgold County this month, not only to recognize National Child Abuse Awareness Month, but also to show the impact our program has made in the lives of many families in Ringgold County.
Keep an eye on our Ringgold County Public Health Facebook page and our website for more information and activities to do with the children in your life. For more information about participating in the program, call Robin McDonnell, RN, at 641-464-0691.
