The public is invited to attend a FREE course on how to positively impact others experiencing mental health symptoms. Learn the signs to detect when there is a mental health problem and develop the skills to effectively help others. Sometimes first aid isn’t a bandage, or CPR, the Heimlich, or calling 911. Sometimes the first aid is YOU!
The Mental Health First Aid course is co-sponsored by Ringgold County Farm Bureau, CROSS Mental Health Region (including Ringgold County), and Marion County Public Health. The classes will be held February 18 and 25 at the Ringgold County Courthouse and will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm each night (please enter through the west door). Weather dates for the course are set for February 20 and 27.
Those interested in attending are asked to pre-register since the course is limited to 30 participants. Participants must be 18 years of age or older to take this course. Pre-register by calling Ringgold County Public Health at 641-464-0691. If you have questions about the course, please contact Stacy Haas at 641-828-2238, extension 152, or at shaas@marionph.org.
