In an effort to support our community during the holidays, the Ringgold County Wellness Committee has asked each department to set up a tree in the courthouse and decorate it with a theme that would pertain to their department. The public (and employees) will vote between December 1-11 by donating a canned good in a Christmas wrapped paper box that will be next to each tree. All canned goods will then be donated to our local food pantry at the end of the voting period.
The Public Health staff enjoyed decorating our tree with nursing supplies such as bandaids, tongue depressors, and q-tips as well as Parents as Teachers items like small toys and booties. The tree was topped with a wreathe made from rubber gloves. Our donation box was placed under a commode seat with a poster encouraging folks to drop their donated food items into the “Christmas Pot.”
Vote for the Public Health Christmas tree and help support our local food pantry by dropping off your non-perishable food items at the courthouse by December 11.
