Ringgold County Parents as Teachers is coordinating with ET Reading Program for two meetings in September. ET Reading Program is a group of volunteers in the Ellston and Tingley area who are initiating a program to promote the importance of reading to children. They will be reading to young children during the events on September 19 and September 24.
While the children attend the story time, Parents as Teachers will be providing parent education to the parents attending. Topics of discussion will include literacy, physical activity, self-care, nutrition and more. Meals will be provided, and each child attending will receive a free book.
The events will be held at the Ellston Library (attached to the United Methodist Church on Main Street) on September 19 from 9:30-10:30 am, and at the Tingley United Methodist Church parsonage (located next to the United Methodist church) on September 24 from 5:30-6:30 pm.
