On Tuesday, May 12, a meeting will be held at the Family Resource Center at 5:30 PM with the topics of infant/toddler relaxation techniques. Childhood isn’t always the carefree time it’s cracked up to be. It can be quite stressful for children. Studies show that one in ten kids suffer from mental health problems including stress, anxiety and depression. Time-outs and cuddles can only do so much. Children can learn to practice relaxation techniques now, just as they learn to crawl and walk or read and write, and will be able to better self-regulate their emotions and deal with stress when it comes their way. We will be showing you massage techniques to help with relaxation as well as teach you how to teach your child self-regulation techniques such as belly breathing. We ask that each child bring an adult along if possible so you can practice as we learn. Please RSVP to Robin or Jennifer at 641.464.0691.
