The following head lice treatment is made available from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Mix equal parts of vinegar and mineral oil. Massage into hair and scalp. Tie plastic bag (gallon-size food storage bag) over hair and leave on for 30 minutes. Shampoo out with Dawn dishwashing liquid. Then shampoo with regular shampoo. Be sure to comb out any nits with a fine-tooth comb.
