Take control of your blood pressure. Visit your doctor and have your blood pressure checked regularly. If your doctor has given you a prescription, follow the directions and don’t stop taking it without talking to your doctor first. Learn how to measure your blood pressure on your own.
You can help achieve a normal blood pressure by eating healthy, being physically active, and maintaining a healthy weight. If you drink alcohol, use in moderation (no more than 1 drink per day for women; no more than 2 drinks per day for men). Don’t use tobacco. Protect your heart!
